A dated look at whether a Kansas resident can use Sporttrade. Kansas was never one of Sporttrade's licensed states, and the exchange has now closed its US betting markets entirely. Information, not advice. As of February 2026.

As of February 2026, Sporttrade is not available to a Kansas resident. Kansas has legal online sports betting, but Sporttrade was only ever licensed in New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, and it has now wound down all of those state betting markets, with the last access ending on 26 June 2026. Its application to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission was still pending and unapproved as of February 2026.
There are two reasons a Kansas resident cannot use Sporttrade. It never held a Kansas licence, and it has now shut its state regulated exchange nationwide while it waits on a federal decision. So the answer here is a clear not available.
Kansas launched legal online sports betting in September 2022, with several licensed operators overseen by the Kansas Lottery and the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission. Sporttrade, however, only secured sports betting licences in five states, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia. Kansas was not among them, so even at its peak Sporttrade was not offered to a Kansas resident.
Sporttrade has stopped offering its state regulated betting exchange. Per Sporttrade's own customer notices and reporting from May 2026, the company wound down sports wagering in its licensed states with the last platform access ending on 26 June 2026, and it has applied to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to register as a designated contract market and a derivatives clearing organisation. That application was still pending and had not been approved as of February 2026.
Until and unless the Commodity Futures Trading Commission grants that designation, Sporttrade is not operating as a federal prediction market exchange either. Under Commodity Futures Trading Commission procedures the agency has a review period once an application is complete, and some applicants have waited far longer, so there is no confirmed launch date. We do not predict the outcome of a pending application.
For a Kansas resident the position is therefore doubly settled. There was no Sporttrade product here before, and there is none now. If you want an exchange style or prediction market product, the federally overseen venues listed below are generally reachable for the non sports categories, with the usual caveat that sports event contracts remain contested across the country.
Sporttrade itself is not available to a Kansas resident at present, so we do not point you to it. The venues below are federally overseen prediction market exchanges that a verified Kansas resident can generally reach for the non sports categories. Sports event contracts are contested across all of them, so confirm the specific market before acting.
Availability is indicative and individual states may restrict specific products such as sports event contracts. Scores are illustrative editorial examples. Confirm the current position with the platform before acting.
Legal does not mean low risk, and reachable does not mean legal. Prediction markets can lose you money. Stake only what you can afford to lose, never to chase a loss, and never on borrowed money. If it stops feeling like a free choice, step back. In the United States you can call or text the national problem gambling helpline on 1 800 522 4700, or visit ncpgambling.org.

Not on its own. Kansas does license online sportsbooks, but each operator needs its own Kansas licence. Sporttrade never held one, and it has now exited state regulated betting nationwide.
