FAQ

Questions readers keep asking.

How is Sporttrade different from a sportsbook?

It presents wagering as buying and selling a position at a moving price rather than placing a fixed odds bet. The price reads as an implied probability and you can sell out before an event finishes, which a traditional fixed odds bet does not allow.

Who regulates Sporttrade?

State gaming regulators in the states where it holds a license, rather than the federal Commodity Futures Trading Commission. That state path is why its availability has been limited rather than nationwide.

Where can I use Sporttrade?

Only in states where it is licensed, and only if you are twenty one or older and physically located there. Its state footprint can change, so confirm whether it is licensed in your state before assuming you can access it.

What does it cost to trade?

The cost comes largely from the spread between the buy and sell prices rather than a posted commission. We do not publish a fixed fee figure because the pricing can change, so check the current terms in the app before trading.

Can I lose money on Sporttrade?

Yes. The price can move against you while a position is open, and a losing position settles at zero. Treat any stake as money you can lose in full.
