FAQ

Questions readers keep asking.

What is Zeitgeist?

It is a decentralized prediction market built as its own blockchain on Polkadot using the Substrate framework, with the ZTG token as its base currency. You reach it through a self custody crypto wallet rather than a registered exchange account.

What is the ZTG token for?

ZTG is the base currency for most markets, and it also powers governance and a community court where holders stake the token to help resolve disputed market outcomes. Its price can move independently of any market you trade.

Who regulates Zeitgeist?

No single regulator oversees it the way the Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversees a designated contract market. It is a permissionless onchain network with no state gaming license, and its legal status is unclear in many regions.

How are disputed outcomes settled?

Zeitgeist uses a community court in which ZTG holders stake the token to rule on disputed markets. That means resolution can depend on a dispute process rather than a single clear authority, which is a risk to understand before you trade.

Can I lose money on Zeitgeist?

Yes, and in more ways than one. The price can move against you, a losing share settles at zero, the ZTG you hold can fall in value, and onchain or dispute outcomes can go against you. Treat any stake as money you can lose in full.
